Topic: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

I would like to share my windows program that I wrote a while ago but never released.
Thanks to "nilezon" for freely available source code, which helped to finish this project.

If you looking for Android App, go here.

This program will allow you to edit NTAG213 parameters and generate valid TAG data for DaVinci Junior and Mini.
Output files can be saved as binary or text file. Updates will be available over the program and on this forum.
There might be few bugs or mistakes, let me know to fix them. Optimizations or suggestions are welcome.

Re: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

Wow, that is so similar to the one I wrote except I store my data in a database.

Re: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

In this paticular case, benefit of using database is limited. It only add complexityof the program, unless you are planning add more function that require advanced search.

Re: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

Don't be sorry, every program you wrote is like one of your babies, as long as it works, it doesn't matter. I was more talking about my preference, it don't have to be everyone's preference.

Those are NFC21, and not  NFC213. Only NFC213 will work.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

Did you say you have already tested one of the tags in your printer?

If I remember correctly cgrillo created a large buffer to handle the Magic Tags which has more pages the the NTAG213 but work emulates the 213 along with a few other types. Don't worry about the data size if it works.

By the way which program are you using to update your tags with? I would suggest you use this one http://www.soliforum.com/topic/16946/fr … ank-ntags/ because I know it works flawlessly.

You might be better off just buying XYZ Filament. This tag hacking seems to be beyond your understanding. Plus when you add the cost of these tags to a new roll of off brand filament you are still near the price of XYZ so you really are not saving that much money.

Re: NTAG Edit Tool - [DaVinci Junior & Mini]

The data in the txt file is hex encoded. Two characters in hex equal one byte on the chip. The file also has line breaks, thats why the file seems to big to fit on this nfc tag. However, you can order nfc213 tags and use this tool with an Android phone to write the data on the tag. It will work
