Topic: Layers not sticking to layers

Hi everyone,

I've been having issues with my layers sticking to each other.
My bed temp was 105 and my nozzle was at 208.
The print was very brittle and easily broken.

I've attached all my settings that I had for the part which I was trying to print at
.2mm layer height
The bed and nozzle were adjusted manually so it doesn't match the slicer settings

Re: Layers not sticking to layers

Have you ever had success with this filament before?

As in (my sentence was awkwardly worked), have you used *this specific roll of filament* before with success?

Sometimes it's the filament, but I haven't looked closely at your files and just wanted to see if it warrants further exploration (if you have had success with this filament, it's probably not the filament. It doesn't really develop problems part-way through the print.)

Typically, as far as I've seen, inter-layer adhesion is an issue of warping stressing pealing it up (exasperated by thin walls), or bad filament.

Edit; Do you find those files work better than a razor? I've always peeled my prints up with a layer, so I'm curious what your success has been.

Re: Layers not sticking to layers

There are a bunch of posts about this particular filament but here's the wrap up. That black filament from SD needs to be printed at a higher temp. That is the most common filament when people post layer adhesion problems.

SD3 w/ mods:
Glass bed with QU-BD heat pad upgrade, threadless ballscrew w/ 8mm smooth rod, spectra line belt replacement, lawsy MK5 extruder, Lawsy replacement carriage, E3D hotend, Ramps 1.4 w/ reprap discount controller, DRV8825 drivers, 12v 30A PS, Acrylic case, Overkill Y-idlers, Filament alarm, Extruder fan + more.

Re: Layers not sticking to layers

Does the temp exceed what the extruder from solidoodle is capable of?

What temps does this black abs need 235?

To get 235C on a solidoodle you set the temperature to 205C as solidoodle reads 30 degrees lower than actual.

Re: Layers not sticking to layers

Change "infill every" to 1. Layers work best when they are right on top of each other as opposed to having a space in between each one.
Try rectilinear infill. Honeycomb may not work to well on something that thin.
Are you really using 3mm filament? Have you done any extruder / flow calibration?
