Topic: Finally went to bowden, amazing
I've been extremely busy between work and my business I haven't had time to post in quite a while. I bought the E3D v5 bowden a few months ago and have been using it with great success since. Only issue is that since it so well replicates the extruders commands that the moire I got rid of adjusting the pot with the old hot end came back. I already had the bare minimum I could run the pot at. I never wanted to go with the hobbed bolt route, didn't seem as reliable as the gear i have on it now. I like the compactness of this design which I got from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:452554.
Of course I'm still not finished, but is there ever a stopping point ha? I won't fully get rid of the pulsing from the motor until I:
A: Upgrade the steppers, which I'll be going to a better board.
B: Get a geared stepper motor, which is about to be ordered.
While I won't order a new board for this printer for awhile since I'm building a large platform printer, the geared stepper should take care of the rest of that pattern.

The arm that was designed with the extruder is using much smaller bearings than what I had on hand so I improvised with the trusty Mk5.

The ring around the motor shaft almost kept the extruder from lining up, so the filament is held tighter then I'd like against the gear. All that will get a redesign after receiving the new geared motor.

Here is my first object printed with it, which is the anchor for my cables to mount onto the back of the carriage. I still have the pulsing pattern going on but it's much less noticeable than before.

With the E3D already setup for bowden this was an extremely easy upgrade. I'm very welcome to any thoughts, constructive criticisms, and questions you all have. I am very pleased, and I'm also thankful I chose to buy a doodle. We have a great community here, which I have learned an enormous amount from. Our printers each have their own character and we grow with them.
Thanks everyone!
