Topic: printBIG - not woriking 4 me...

hey,
after a few weeks of "trail and error" i figured out how to get good results out of my solidoodle3 printer.
but…  only in tiny prints…
I tried to print a bigger part (ca. 15cm x 15cm x 15cm) with absolutely no luck… [pictures]

because of the abs tension the layers begin to bent…
I tried a lower extruder temperature – about 190 C
I was thinking:  lower temp -> less temp difference -> less tension…
the result was fail.jpg

how can this be done?
can I only print thin and high by changing to pla? or can't this be done anyway?

Re: printBIG - not woriking 4 me...

Are you using an enclosure?

Your temps for black from solidoodle should be around 205 to 210 which is aka (235- 240 actually temp is 30 degrees higher)
I had issues similar to yours however when I increased the temperature the layers were sticking properly.

If you want to print big parts in abs you need an enclosure.
