Topic: Extrusion Issues
I'm having a few issues with the Solidoodle 3. I'm printing with white PLA at 160C (I used to be able to go as low as 150)
Mainly, when I try to extrude, the extrusion gear turns, but does not feed the filament into the nozzle. If I push the filament manually, it'll come out just fine. I guess I should also note that the bearing next to the extrusion gear is not turning, even when the filament will extrude.
It seems to be somewhat random when the machine stops extruding, It's not a specific area of the bed so I think the bed is level, also it usually isn't in the first 3 layers when the bed is close the the nozzle (printing at 0.3mm layer heights).
I've tried using a guitar string to unclog the nozzle. I can push it all the way through to the filament loading section, wiggle it around, etc. The nozzle doesn't seem to be clogged, but I'm still unable to reliably extrude.
EDIT: I remembered just before the problem started, small black specs were appearing in my prints. Maybe that means something.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
