I think my original issue was clogging and I think it was caused by having the bed too close to the extruder for a number of prints. Must have just gunked it up.

I *think* my problem was either my spring was not pushing hard enough against the filament to properly grip it or my temperature was too low and not melting the PLA fast enough.

Also, I cleaned the threaded round "gripper" with a toothbrush.  There was a bunch of PLA chips in it creating a smooth surface.

I just looked at my spare versus my original and noticed that my spare definitely sticks up higher than the original.

]]> Tue, 18 Jun 2013 14:26:53 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/26851/#p26851 <![CDATA[Re: Extrusion Issues]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/26848/#p26848 You should be fine trimming it with a knife.  However you should send that pic to support.  If that is sticking up above the barrel, there may be a gap at the bottom of it which could lead to jamming.  There can't be any space between the interior channel of the PEEK and the top face of the brass barrel.  If there is a gap, the filament can expand into it as it softens or melts causing a jam.
