Topic: Edv6 feedback and problem
hi a quick update,
I still have some problem with the EDv6 upgrade,
To resume the situation
when I upgraded to EDv6 I had 3 problems that surfaced
1- the bed is so slow now to reach 80°c, way more slow than before. and it doesn't pass 80. Before the upgrade it could go up to 120 easy (probably more but never tried) and that was literally and immediately after flashing the firmware with new termistor data.
2- the Edv6 clog all the time now, on this= I did break the original termistor, and replaced with a NTC100K.
so I rule that out till I have a new one, I'm gonna go with the "V6 PT100 Total Upgrade Kit" it's easier and cheaper that asking for them to assemble the original V6 one.
The fact that the termistor is not assembled is a pain, and seriously ridiculously hard to assemble. Anyway till I have the P100 termistor I'm gonna ignore this problem.
3 the constant blob that appear when plastique flow....
I found out after a very deep resarched that it was because the V6 is so precise that the stepper need to be upgraded and the hobb goblin too.
Seriously .... this isn't clearly documented, to find that you have to make such drastic change afterward, is a bit misleading... and quite a lot more costly.
Now for resolving the first one
I did re flash the original firmware, and still the bed is not going above 80° and take such a longtime to get there...
Logically it must be one of the 4 possibility
1- The bed heat resistance is broken (how do I find out?)
2- The motherboard is broken (how do i test it ?) I have no electric knowledge what so ever. and the many tutorial are very confusing for me (that and English is not my native tongue)
3- Something in the firmware was changed ? but I flashed, re flashed then flashed some more while doing many testing, even reinstalled windows driver, on several computer...
4- The power supply is broken, at the moment I have a "reprap compatible 400w 12v one" from china.
the original was broken a long time ago.
Now I have many PC ATX power supply around, but I don't know how to rig one, and I'm electrically challenged...I have seen post about them but for me the instruction are a tiny bit confusing. can any one help me on that one too ?
I'm loosing it... my Solidoodle 3 was working very well before the upgrade, what was advertised as a simple upgrade, fuck it up,
I'm not blaming E3d much, but still a tiny bit for misleading
For example,I have change the carriage and the extruder with lawsy upgrade ( that was kinda a big undertaking completely reassembling the printer from the ground up and I managed it .)
I have also build the DLP muve 1.1 to 1.5 from scratch too, as well as a micro delta. so I'm not totally a noob, and I CAN follow instructions.
What rage me is that It's a very good printer, and now it's getting dust ... because of that upgrade that was advertised as easy.
that being said, I recognize that the EDv6 is a superior product, the small sample that I have printed in PLA before getting the termistor broken and the clog where clearly impressive even with the blob artifact. The flow of plastic is so much fluid and precise...
Please can someone help me?
