Topic: Older drivers, newer board?

The stepper driver for my extruder went bad on my Azteeg X3. Can I use a driver from my old Sanguinololu until I get around to ordering a new one? I know it will fit but I'm sure I would need to tweak some settings. Of course this happens when I actually *need* to print something to fix a car.

I tried a little while ago and all I get is a high pitch whine and no movement.

You need to adjust the VREF's

That doesn't seem to work.

Re: Older drivers, newer board?

The Pin out is labeled on the drivers, compare them side by side.  You may have them in backward or need to swap a couple wires on the motors.

I flipped it around and now I get nothing at all.

Then put them back the other way and compare the pins.  You'll most likely find that two that go to the motors are reversed.  Pull those out of the plug and switch them (use a razor to lift the plastic tab and slide the wire out.
