Topic: Soliwiki Wrong?

I feel this is not the correct part for a sd3.    was that list for the sd2?

part # 495-2125-nd  from digikey

Re: Soliwiki Wrong?

When I got my E3D from Filastruder, I immediately noticed how small the thermistor was in comparison to the stock one. However, It is certainly an upgrade.
I am not an electrical expert, so I cannot give a definitive word of wisdom. sad
However, some of the best minds on here contribute regularly to Soliwiki.

Is the thermistor you are holding the old or the new?

Re: Soliwiki Wrong?

Smaller is better for thermistors, as it lowers the time constant.

OP, I'm not sure what you're asking here - as long as the setting in your firmware matches the installed thermistor, you're good to go.

Re: Soliwiki Wrong?

I also believe that the blue connector for the thermistor on the e3d wiki is not right, but luckily some normal break-away headers can be used as well and maintain the easy coupling.

Re: Soliwiki Wrong?

Big one is the stock one vs the tiny ones from digikey.  so either way i can use both?

Re: Soliwiki Wrong?

You can use either, as long as it is properly setup on your firmware to use that kind of thermistor. I don't know if the one you have stock for your solidoodle has the same resistance correspondence as the one you bought.

For example, when you switch to the E3D it uses a different thermistor type in the firmware, so you have to change that.
