Topic: surface won't stick to bed

the gold colored thing (don't know what it is called) had ripped so I bought a new one.  I used the polising pad included then cleaned with acetone.  It won't stick to the bed.  I installed it when bed was warm, then I reinstalled it when cold.  Can I glue it?

I assume you are talking about the kapton tape square---> http://store.solidoodle.com/index.php?r … duct_id=61 when you say gold colored thing... did you remove the backer from the kapton square... I am guessing you bought a kapton square???

I removed the white backer and stuck it to the metal heat bed.  I used the method in the video, but I do not have a piece of glass.  Am I supposed to have the piece of glass, how would that attach?

no - the glass is just a proxy for the alu bed in the case of the solidoodle...

If you want to add a glass sheet ontop - there is numerous numerous threads about beds on the forum....
