Topic: Solidoodle 2 First Layer uneven

So, I recently got and installed a heated build platform after using the non-heated one for several weeks. It is alot better at keeping builds from peeling off, but I have noticed that when i'm printing the first layer, it sometimes makes these weird bumps and ridges that look ugly and cause the extruder to catch on them. I've tried messing with the settings in Repetier-Host with not much success, and i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.

Posting because I'm not entirely sure what that is and am curious what others say.

You do seem to squish the first layer a bit more than I do, but I assume you're talking about the ridges of seemingly varying opacity, rather than the ridges from the slightly over-extruded lines [not really so much overextruded in a bad-calibration way, just from squishing first layer].

I would bet that one or both of your Y-axis belts have slack in them,I had a similar problem.

Adjust them and you should be fine,it will take all of 5min to do big_smile

Good luck!!

your first layer seem a little flat... that means it's too close to the nozzle. adjust it and you will see the bump disappearing.
