Topic: Extruder issue

Hi guys during my last print after same layers the extruder has ceased to extrude the plastic, i made a little video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JX1ZA-U8Uc. The motor do not seem to make more grip on the plastic filament how i can resolve this issue? Thanks for any type of help that will you give me.

Re: Extruder issue

You, my friend, have a clogged nozzle.  first step is to try to clear the nozzle using a guitar wire (E string, I believe).  Careful, you may burn a finger or two as the nozzle gets hot!

Re: Extruder issue

For this type of operation I have to disassemble the extruder piece by piece? In case it is not a problem I've done that a few times..

Re: Extruder issue

You shouldn't have to take it apart for this part of the operations...  Lower the bed >30mm and use the guitar string from the bottom of the nozzle.  Insert it until you start getting some ooze out of the nozzle around the string. remove the string and extrude 20-40mm to complete the clear.

If this doesn't clear it, then you may have to clear it by taking it apart and torching the nozzle, but let's not go that far first.

Re: Extruder issue

I would say anything less than .3mm.  The new nozzles are .4mm, but I'm not sure what size you have, so going with the smaller size is a good bet in any case.

Re: Extruder issue

Every time that the bed is not calibrated (usually i have to recalibrate it after two prints) , the plastic get stuck in the extruder. To remove the clogged nozzle i can't use the guitar string because doesn't work, I have to open the extruder and clean the inside. It only happens to me so often?
