well here it is i have to add the electronics then recalibrate it. i don't like how the linear bearings sound they sound stiff

Re: since my printer is down

I may have to do the same you are; my printer is down (started the lawsy carriage upgrade and my boyfriend's dog ate one of the pieces) so I might as well strip out the electronics and what not and paint the thing. I hate the bare metal look when I could have something a little more festive.

SD3 w/ RUMBA (8825s), merlin hot end (in pieces). Ender3 w/ silent board for PLA printing. Ender5 w/ silent board, e3d v6, new z lead screw, and glass bed. DiY Kossel w/ smoothieboard (in pieces). Vellman Vertex (in pieces)
Shapeoko2 router in process of being converted to laser engraver (in pieces)
Multicam 5000 series CNC Router w/ 11HP spindle, 5x10' table, and auto tool changer (in pieces)

use a little 3-in-1 oil on the rods and work the bearings back and forth thru it, they should loosen up a bit. Ours were a bit stiff initially as well. after a little oil on the rods they run very smoothly now.

I do wipe the rods down periodically to remove dust & other debris and re-oil - but we live on a dirt road so dust is a big issue - even with the windows closed!
