Topic: SD4 & Rumba help needed
After a failed attempt (or 3) at trying to fix a bad USB connection, I finally gave in and ordered a Rumba board from here - based in Utah, USA...
package arrived on Friday...

had also ordered a new PSU to go with it...

Got the firmware setup and flashed to the board ok, after a minor hiccup.
started trying to wire things up and found I was gonna need to cut nearly every single stock connector because they would not fit in the spaces provided (too thick). Thankfully, there are screw terminals for most connections, so no big deal.
finished wiring things up this morning, and turned it on - so far so good, no smoke. ![]()
verified my com port in device manager, then fired up RH. made sure correct com port was selected and hit Connect - success!
or so I thought...

this shows immediately after connecting - nothing else has been done, no heaters turned on, havent tried moving anything...
also at the bottom of RH where it lists the temps & status of heaters it reads:
Extruder: 357.5C/Off Bed: 357.5C/off
now obviously 357.5C is not right, and for the life of me I cant figure out why it is showing that...
Wiring has been checked multiple times against the reprap wiki page for the RUMBA - here
and here is a pic of my board (please excuse the spaghetti, just trying to get this thing up and running right now)

it has been suggested that perhaps this isnt a genuine Rumba?
or that there may be a problem in the traces/connections in the board itself?
I am getting a resistance reading from both thermistors, suggesting that those are OK (not really sure what setting to use on the DMM, or what they should be reading, but I am getting something so...)
Will also be contacting the vendor about this to see what they have to say, but would welcome any help, suggestions, comments of what to check next.
(and I apologize for the book, just trying to be thorough
)
