Topic: Odd problems with extruding

My 2nd gen pro has been having this issue lately where the extruding gear "cogs" (rotates back and forth quickly) at certain areas of a print. There is plenty of slack for the filament being fed, it is not clogged and it extrudes just fine everywhere else. It seems like a very odd problem to me... while laying down the skirt this does not happen, only during the rest of the job.

I thought maybe this was a software issue so I used a newer version of repetier host with no success. sad Please help?

It a function  called retraction. See if it is enabled. It should be, but maybe was not at first.
