Topic: Solidoodle 3 Diagonal Banding

I've just installed my e3d v6 and new power supply and I've just done my first test print to calibrate the extrusion multiplier. Before I did this I levelled the bed,  did the PID tuning and calibrated my extruder steps per mm but I'm getting this diagonal banding on all sides of my cube.

I think that it might be a z-wobble problem but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

It's called moire. You can combat this in a number of ways. The easiest (and cheapest) is to adjust the E VREF on the board. Be sure to use a non-conductive screwdriver and tune by ear as you extrude.

Re: Solidoodle 3 Diagonal Banding

Did you print this in VASE mode?  That could be the reason you see the diagonal banding.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

Re: Solidoodle 3 Diagonal Banding

Thanks for your help. No,  it wasn't in vase mode but after I adjusted the vref dial at the back the results were amazing! Check out the picture below to see the difference. The post-vref adjustment cube is on the right.
