Topic: *Major Newbie, Workbench Apprentice Not Prnting

Let me preface this by saying I don't know much about what I am doing. The workbench apprentice has never completed a print, but has gotten more than half way a couple of times. Now the printer is not printing, it probes the table nine times then stops, repetier is still working for a while, but after a while repetier locks up. When the repetier locks up, if the printer is turned off, repetier begin working again. My power is plugged into a new Belkin Surge protector, a brand new, 8 gig ram, intel Core I3, Windows 8 with no other devices plugged in and all power saving/ screen saver/ or time outs settings, are turned off. Repetier with Slic3r all programs Solidoodle recommends were downloaded from Solidoodle links and are being used. Now, what is the problem, what is missing, where are all the default settings? Any help would be greatly appreciated, if you would like a video that's not a problem and can link it to youtube.

No, its not a laptop. Other info, two other Desktop computers with 4 gigs RAM, one win 7, one XP, have been used following the same practices, with no success.

I had the same problem I fix it by putting my printer on a ups backup by its self

• Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice
• Creates plastic parts up to 6" x 6" x 8"
• Heated Aluminum Build Platform with Glass Bed
• Dual extruder

As cpsmicahel said, check both your RH and Slic3r start codes for any temperature commands such as M109 or M190. My first guess would be that it is waiting for the extruder and/or bed to reach a certain temperature. Also check the temperatures in your Slic3r filament settings.

the only way i was able to fix mine was putting the printing on its own wall socket with nothing else on it if i plugged in my computer to the same plug it would stop on every print the guys at Solidoodle told me i had a bad power supply so they are sending me a new one i put a 1500 APC on it to regulate the power and now i can print kind of LOL still cant get my prints to stick down

Re: *Major Newbie, Workbench Apprentice Not Prnting

Thanks to update, Now the WB Apprentice is plugged into an APC UPS "600" Brand new (on sale at Office Depot now). The printers main problem is the WB apprentice printer setting is not usable, but the default setting starts to print and stops mid-print. The printer has come close to fonishing but will has not finished. Currently Dan from solidoodle is attempting to diagnose the problem, personally it would just be best to send it back and try another printer.
