"Plug and play" is not really *that* subjective, come on...
"Everyday mainstream consumer" isn't either:
With few exceptions every Solidoodle is a plug and play device, those few exceptions aren't small ones, or easy to solve for everyday mainstream consumer, it might be for tinkerers, but it isn't for them. No matter how easy those things seem fixable *for you*, it doesn't make it any more plug and play...
And it seems most issues are not even because of QC, which I've already commented on but bad design... (motors not having enough tourque, spool not positioned high enough, cables too short, getting in the way of other components, glass too thin... just browsing through some new threads).
Being so forgiving to a company for so many issues is part of the reason the same issues are still there and some of us are here, complaining, instead of just using our Davinci, Printrbot, Prusa, etc.
