Re-designed and re-made half of the machine and got it to perform the way I wanted it to so I am happy now.  Original printed parts started to literally fall apart. Basic machine design is sound with a few caveats.  I enjoy tinkering with the machine but I can understand people not wanting to have to.

I asked them if they could send me their toolkit with the infamous Solidoodle toothbrush that was sent out free with many of the 1st orders for the long wait time and asked if I could also be sent a light strip for the one that wasn't working on my machine and was flatly denied.  I thought that was not the best towards good customer relations.

For me this company would have to offer a Ferrari for a Ford price for me to consider purchasing from them again. Just not a good experience overall.

Manufactured in China becomes trash.  Notice whathappened to all the knife companies who went with China.  Killed quality. screw China. Be the Bridgeport  mill of 3d printing.  Make a quality product you can build a name off of. Also most cellphones are junk bc they come from China.

Again, can you cite some specific examples of how most cellphones are junk because they come from China? I would argue that the build quality of cellphones from China these days is incredible. Companies spend millions on QC to make sure their designs are built to exact specifications.

I doesn't matter what region something was manufactured. Plain and simple.
1) I am a musician. I have a $2k custom American made bass. Feels great. But when I'm in the studio, I go for my $150 Indonesian bass which sounds like others I've played costing $6k
2) I collect rare books. American made books in my collection fall apart decades before European/Asian counterparts.
3) Since 3D printing is seen as a manufacturing "revolution", does that mean all my prints are superior to the same parts printed by some dude/chick in El Salvador? Just because I am in the US?

China, and ANY other manufacturer in the world, can only create a product as good as the designs and materials instructed.

No attorney is going to take a class action suit against a company that is willingly providing refunds.

If you don't want the printer, ask for a refund. Simple as that.

well... just under half a year , a refund is NOT going to work.

I have an attorney local here in LA who has NEVER lost and eager to take this case, which is why I posted.

Aside from the hotend the only issues really do seem to be QC issues, pretty much all of which they could have caught if they didn't jump the gun and sent the printers to Brooklyn first. But with people canceling orders and raising hell every hour of every day. I can understand why they did not allow for this delay. They should have scheduled it in, but this was SDs first time doing overseas manufacturing. I'm willing to bet they will not make this mistake again, if they are given another chance.

Overall, though, it seems like a substantial improvement to me. The variation in build quality seen even on the SD4 is pretty mind boggling (lack of epoxy was a huge problem).  Some folks get results right out of the box that cost me a lot of money and frustration to get. At least that era seems to be ending with the press.
