Topic: Squeak from the passive side front to back rod..

Alright so I am getting a TERRIBLE squeak on the passive side (side without a motor) of the front to back carrier.  So if you are looking at your Doodle, its the right side bar that runs from front of the machine to the back.  Im pretty sure its where the carrier connects to the rod itself and rides, bc there isnt a bearing or anything there...just metal rod under plastic carrier.  Has anyone replaced that with some sort of roller bearing or inline bearing like ALL THE OTHER rod connections have?  It didnt start squeaking until I turned the speed up and I have lubed it and that works for a bit and it doesnt squeak ALL the time, just enough to be annoying.

Yep that side just slides on Teflon blocks. Check out Lawsy's printable x and y carriages in hacks/mods if you want to go with bearings on all the rods instead.

I have had a squeak on the left quarter of my X rods for the last couple months. I haven't tried to get rid of it because I like that it gets on my wife's nerves big_smile

But...you could use white lithium grease
