Topic: New printer is pretty well bricked

Help. Bought a sd4 and used it to get some nice prints but yesterday it just crashed during a print and I had to hit the emergency stop to get it to respond. Sense then If I turn the build plate heater on the printer just disconnects.

Running repetierHost 1.0.6 on Ubuntu 14.10.

What do you mean it crashed?  It stopped moving entirely and/or stopped heating or it started moving erratically?  And what do you mean you had to hit the emergency stop to get it to respond?  All that does is stop the printer, not issue any command that it "responds" to.  My first thought is that your thermistor in either the hot end or the bed is shorted.  You may have to do a good bit of disassembling to fix that, but if it is new than hopefully SD will stand behind their product.

I mean it stopped moving entirely and I had to hit the button and reconnect to get it to recognize any key presses. It continued to heat the exstruder and buildplate.

try new USB cable

Agreed, try new USB cable and/ or make sure it is not comin loose at either end.

Yes I am to be clear it does that when I'm hooked up to a windows box not the linux where ix just kicks me out.
