I got the new e3d v6 hotend. put it on and tried to do the software update. However, after I upload the marlin.pde file in arduino no matter what board I select I get "Oops wrong board". I have a SD3 Sang rev 1.3 board. Not sure what I'm selecting wrong on the board. Com port and the coding is correct after multiple double checks.
What version of Arduino are you using? Do you see under tools/ boards, 644p or 1284P?
I'm using 1.05 I've been selecting Sang w/ 644p. Finally got out of the oops error by changing 81 back to 62. But now I'm getting a buffer error.

I have a sang board 1.3 and 3edv6 too and I believe I used .022 version.

When you try to upload...are you using the reset button? In other words: Save, Verify, Upload, Hit Reset Button(on Board)?

I was hitting save, verify and it was giving me an error code. I'm doing it wrong aren't I

I'm just affraid to hit upload when I'm getting errors after compiling and verifying. Wanted to get it straightened out first

so version 022 doesnt have the selection for my board. back in 1.05 it does but it shows me the line highlighted with an error saying "rx_buffer not declared" in the marlin section not configuration.h.
The Arduino .022 does not come with the necessary elements in the Hardware folder and the firmware. Those 2 items need to be installed as well. This link should help to solve your issue:

If you can get through it with no errors, then you will need to modify the configuration.h tab in the marlin.pde file to define the Soliddodle 3 and the other thermal changes for the E3D like Maxtemp and Semtec Thermistor selection, etc as called out in the E3D instructions. Then you can do a final upload.

one last thing. I didnt get a different z end stop mount. should i just j\use a screw that's 6 mm longer? or is there a way to offset that in slicer?

Now go get some filaments more fun than ABS like t glase or woodfill. Woodfill is probably my next experiment.
