Good! Hopefully it will work for both! Im sick of cramming things in there to make it work! LOL!

So notice the height of the groove mount on the V6.

It is difficult to see so I circled it but this is a V5 mounted to the Bulldog.  I used a piece of SS safety tie wire in the shaper of a "U" to take up the gap.

It'll work for both.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

These drawings say the V6 is bigger yet? Why did they do that if the V5 was already bigger that standard mounts?

It'll work for both.

Maybe spoke too soon there is .43mm difference between the two.
V5 is 5.51
V6 is 5.94

Well, No worries. Easy enough to change that part if needed.

At least the diameter is the same and I can think of a lot of ways to deal with .43.  Plus it doesn't matter so long as the top of the heat sink gets pushed up against the rest of the bulldog.

My preliminary measurements tell me that making that fit correctly for the V5 will also work for a V6.  There is a slight chance that the very top of the V6 could stick out slightly.  Until I try it I won't know for sure if that will really affect anything.  If it is a problem I don't see why a few seconds with some sandpaper on a flat surface couldn't solve it.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

I think they had to change the groove mount by the half a millimeter for the embedded coupling, though I'm not certain.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

I remember why this was not an issue for me; I machined a small aluminum yoke to act as a better filament guide incorporating the PTFE tubing.  I used the thickness of the aluminum rim to offset any play in the fit...

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

Ok! So he says they will be done today! He is making 6 only. So that leaves 5 left.

Wardjr, Mloebl, Galinsky. Please confirm if you want one still? PM me if so. I can get them shipped out Friday.

How does $40 shipped sound?

I'll get some pics as soon as I have them in hand.

Thanks!

Here is the drawing to get you started...sorry, for some reason the radius did not register for dimensioning, but I ended up just grinding that in by hand!

Cheers!

EDIT:  And Dimensions are in inches tongue

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

Thanks kind sir! I think I'm just going to run it with a 1.75mm hole. I dont need the PTFE on the V5. Ill post my drawings when I get to it.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

He actually made 8. So 4 are spoken for. 2 more possibly. so 2 left!

I'm sure he will make more if we run out.

NOTE THESE ARE FOR THE V5 ONLY!

I will need to acquire a V6 if you want one of those as well.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

My intention since I have 2 v5's and one v6 is to see if I can't come up with a quick fix via some sandpaper, friction and the top of the V6 wink

If wardjr cant find a solution I'll pick up a v6 and if 8 people want one I'll see if he wants to do it.
