Re: E3D Hotend mount for SD3 with active cooling fan (stock carriages)

now the big question. can this be used on a duel extruder setup for at least one of the extruders and use other for support material as it dont need bridge cooling? if so then all I need is glass plate and board with connector pins for the cooling fan and duel extruders for my SD2 instead of an SD apprentice

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

.35mm nozzles at dawn? tongue
*sorry couldn't resist*

SD3. Mk2b + glass, heated enclosure, GT2 belts, direct drive y shaft, linear bearings, bowden-feed E3D v5 w/ 0.9° stepper
Smoothieboard via Octoprint on RPi

Are there any plans to revise this mount to accommodate V6?
Can't find a mount that provides both heat sink and deck fan(s).

Thanx

I did not plan on it, but if there enough people who would use it then I would give it a shot.  I am still using a v5, so I wouldn't be able to test the fit like I normally do.  If anyone is interested in being the fit tester I would be glad to design it.  I just need someone to print out copies of it and let me know what works/doesn't work so that I can change the design.

yes V6 fits much smaller space so easy to do duel extruders plus cooling fans. they upgraded CNC and made fins thinner so less space was required. its like half as big with same features

I'd be glad to be a guinea pig.  I have just installed the V6 on my SD2 and really haven't finished wiring it up.  So, I don't even know if it works yet - hope so, my factory hot end had it's third new nozzle & tube since Christmas, and it plugged in about 20 minutes.  I've got a bit of work to do with calibration and all that goes with that.  If push comes to shove, I guess I can try blasting the old nozzle with hellfire and maybe get it unclogged.

Food for thought, as I said, I don't know if the printer will even work yet.  Elmoret has engineering drawings on his Filastruder/E3d site - would help with measurements.
