Topic: Bowden, Bed and New Hotend Benefits, real world?
As I upgrade my SD2 after failures I have been upgrading with 110% improved results.
So as I am doing bearing upgrades now I took apart my hotend.
I upgraded to a QUBD cartridge.
I can see the benefit of doing the XY carriages and the jigsaw just for future repairs and access but what about the Hotend? the stock one seems simple enough and works fine from what I see
any benefit to having others ones (other then for clogs) any performance improvements? Otherwise what is the simplest bust plug and play upgrade for the SD2 version that I can swap in as a backup?
Same goes for the extruder. i saw the Bulldog, but that seems like overkill and heavy, any benefits to that other then it will do bowden as well?
Bowden. Is it worth doing bowden if extrude fails for general printing is it really that much faster or better quality. it seems like expensive upgrade maybe comes with more upgrades needed to be complete?
I have the stock bed with glass. I can see the pad heater as good upgrade especially for doing full format prints. I noticed on large prints out to 5" wide that the bottom layers start to curl up during long runs. Need more heat even across the bed
Print for fun and for parts for my sports cars
current car is 88 IROC
