Topic: E3D Print Quality Troubles
I finally got my thermistor issues squared away (thanks everybody), and have done a couple test prints with my E3D hotend. The prints are coming out poorly, with a noticeable squiggle, for lack of a better word, that is the frequency of the extruder steps. My heat sink does have some play inside of the mount so I've made shims from single layer prints, and wedged them between the heatsink and bottom of the mount, That seems to completely eliminate the slop. I can put the original hotend in the mount, and get good results, and it fits much better in the mount without any shims. Nice straight lines without any squiggle.
This is a partial print of a 20 mm cube: imgur dot com slash 2NwU4HZ
Any ideas on how to get rid of this effect?
