Topic: SD3 Bed heater failure

Hi All,
My new SD3 bed heater stopped working and I was looking for some help.
I have never had the temperature of the bed set over 85c and have gone through
approx. 1/4th of a 2lb spool of ABS.
After a quick look, the bed resistor is at 53.2kohms and I do get 12vdc (unloaded) out of the
controller. my guess is the resistor or heater is bad and would only produce 2.71mwatts of power at 12vdc.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: SD3 Bed heater failure

I don't know what was wrong, but I just had my bed temp drop out as well.  I usually run the bed temp at 98... it was down to 38.  I've been printing pretty steady since the beginning of July with 0 problems.  I was just looking at the back of  machine, I blew on it, and the bed started to heat up again.  Should I put a fan on the back?

I'm up to support request email number 6 without response from Solidoodle.
If anyone at the company is looking at this would you check the [email protected] mail account.

Thanks, I thought it might be an email error of some kind.
