Common window glass over heated aluminum bed
using PLA at Extruder temp  185 - 200
bed temps 40 - 90

Glass cleaned with ammonia cleaner
Bare glass tried   hair spray on glass tried

First layer being smooshed into bed

Extruded plastic isn't sticking at all

any suggestions?

What PLA are you using?  Chinese PLA from the likes of RepRaper, Octave, etc have a reputation for being difficult to stick.

Re: Glass bed No Stick

After having some issues with my Octave ABS at first, I've got it dialed in to where I'm having a hard time taking it off the build platform now.  Still using factory Kapton tape with rips in it and all.

Same with me.
Still using factory Kapton tape on bed and Solidoodle and Octave abs.
And every once in a while I have had to realign my table height after trying to remove super stuck prints even after the bed has cooled down.

The ABS is good, but PLA can be a different matter.  Those who are trying it say that once you get it stuck, it works great, and the reduced cost is worth the effort to get it dialed in.

Re: Glass bed No Stick

I etched the glass top surface with etching cream.

PLA still won't stick    Extruder temp  200 / 185      Bed   75 / 25

Any help?

Re: Glass bed No Stick

Before the next print wipe the surface with a disolvent, acetona.

Re: Glass bed No Stick

I couldn't get PLA to glass unless I set the bed temp to at least that of ABS bed temp.

With zero temperature the PLA sticks nicely to 3M blue tape.

Re: Glass bed No Stick

Maybe some hairspray could help !

Re: Glass bed No Stick

Blue painters tape or hairspray, or ABS Slurry (ABS Melted into acetone)

assuming you have the correct thermistor table selected, try printing at 175C
