Topic: Not the same since software upgrade

I upgraded to Repetier 0.85b and Slicer 0.9.9 and I haven't been able to produce a decent print since.

The last repetier was downloaded from Solidoodle website, and this new version was downloaded from the Repetier website.

The biggest problem I am getting seems to be with too much filament being extruded on the first layers, and then not enough on the outer perimeters (there are visible gaps).

I've tried comparing all my settings in the old software to the new software and they all seem to be the same, and I have even gone as far as printing using the older software versions with the same result.

I have been tearing my hair out for days with this.

beware of the new options that are not proprely set if your .ini come from a too old version... (you just have to put the default value in the blank case)

and some default value change since previous version (you can see this with ballon tips with over mouse)

but you can also check the "first layer height" and re set it properly (mine is set on 0.30, but default value is 0.35)

I think you are more correct than you realise. I've been over and over all my settings, re-calibrated everything,  and started from scratch. I even tried using the original 0.3mm config file from solidoodle, and that even wasn't right.

I'm slowly getting somewhere.

The moral of the story is to wait for RH to be updated on the solidoodle website

Anyone that's been around here for long knows that you'll be waiting a long time for updates like that.

I agree that the newest Slic3r seems a bit buggy, so hopefully the next update fixes it.
