Topic: Bought SD3, Mac OSX 10.7.3 - No Software?! Help.

MY SD3 arrived yesterday.  Well packaged, appears well constructed.  I would love to start using it.  I have a big problem though.  There is no software to run it.  When I bought the thing, it specifically mentioned on the website that it supported Mac and Windows.  Only thing is, Windows is the only software you can run.

Now I know I'm not the only designer / modeler that uses a Mac.  Last I checked, this industry was Mac dominated.  Do any of you know a way to get me going until SD actually starts supporting their product?  If not, I am going to repackage this up, drive it down to brooklyn and demand a refund. I'm a bit upset because I'm a grand in with this and the product is not supported as billed on the webpage when I bought it.

You can run Repetier Host on Mac

http://www.repetier.com/

Also,  Did you use the install instructions on solidoodle website here

http://www.solidoodle.com/how-to-2/how- … -software/

Re: Bought SD3, Mac OSX 10.7.3 - No Software?! Help.

There are several of us Mac users here, I am on 10.8.3 myself..  After you follow those instructions to setup Repetier-Host, post any issues you are having in here.

I believe you need at least 10.6 OSX to run repetier otherwise I would probably have one on my mac.

Re: Bought SD3, Mac OSX 10.7.3 - No Software?! Help.

OK, I see what the issue was

"Repetier Host
NEW: We are releasing our beta test for the Repetier host all in one installer. This is a far easier program to use for some, please enjoy using it! We will post more comprehensive guides very soon. The installer (for windows only at the moment) can be found here: Windows Installer For Repetier Host.

Please note: If you have a Solidoodle 3, you must use the Repetier package above. You cannot use Pronterface for the moment."

I took the bold too literally.  If you go to the actual instructions page it looks like that mac version of RepHost covers 2 and 3.

BUT...
The Solidoodle 3 instructions for Slic3r and the preset configurations are not in the Repetier for mac v0.55.

I'm going to call and speak to a human about this.

Re: Bought SD3, Mac OSX 10.7.3 - No Software?! Help.

The software download instructions come with a pdf file and two ini files.  The ini files are for the solidoodle2.  I have to manually put in the slic3r settings.  Any help on what numbers need to be input would be great.  Customer support by email is responsive, but frankly useless.  Asking if one has downloaded the instructions is not customer service.  Supporting your product and having the software for it, as advertised, IS.

Here's the confusion: It doesn't matter whether the .ini files are loaded for the 2 and 3. They can be opened with a text editor and read. They are rather human readable. You may enter them by hand from here. These are the contents of the .ini files.

Here are the entire contents:

Perfect.  Thanks.  It's working.  The design base is not sticking and the part keeps coming off.  I have raised the temperature up to 100 on the heated base to get it to stick.  No luck so far.  My IR thermometer is pretty dead on with the device setting.

Have you tried adjusting the Z-axis?

or level the bed

even the glass bed + hairspray has worked for me and many others here
