Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags (Page 14 of 20)

I used the Android app with my da vinci mini w and it worked (firmware 1.2.7), so thanks to madman907 for taking the time to make it and to others who have helped figure this stuff out.

An issue I ran into at the start was getting a message that my current filament had been temporarily suspended. This turned out to be the XYZprint software itself detecting the tag, so if anyone gets that message and you’re blocking outgoing internet connections, maybe that’s why. I got around this issue by using the old xyzprinting software called XYZware.  I’m on mac and I got it from https://macdownload.informer.com/xyzware/download/. Also, the mac firewall doesn’t block outgoing internet connections, but you can use free software called LuLu for that.

My phone didn’t have the ability to write NFC tags, so I bought an old Nexus 7 tablet from ebay for around £13. Just thought I'd mention that incase anyones looking for a cheap way to make the tags.

I have a Davinci Jr 2 mix I've been printing fine the last couple days with a paper tag written with reeltool, switched to a new tag and a new reel and that tag, then the original working tag and 2-3 others were saying unidentified spool. 

I've blocked the printer on my router from accessing the internet and downloaded the Ntag refill tool.  Next paper tag is working now.

Does the printer make a validation call back to XYZ and then lock the tags?  Or is the application?  My printer is on the other side of the house and I'm printing from my PC via wifi.

I only bought 10 paper tags locally, I'm going to have to get a roll of 100 off aliexpress at this rate.

When I downloaded this tool it just crashes first thing and won't actually turn on and let me use it. I don't know of this thread is dead but if anyone sees this can you help me?

You may also have to right click it and select run as administrator.  On some windows installs it does not like programs writing to the root or system directories without admin rights.

I just updated my Da Vinci mini w+ to firmware version 1.1.9 and now the paper tags are no longer working.  I tried using the old Windows software and making a fresh tag with v1.40 of the android app, but no luck.  I would advise against updating your firmware to this version for now.  I was on 1.1.5 before the upgrade and that was working fine.

The error that I get when I try to print is "Cartridge cannot be recognized.  Please replace a genuine XYZPrinting cartridge and try again."

if i try to generate an new tag from blank NTAG using Random UID, I get Transceive failed (Error code 0x02) - Not EmuTag or possibly the EmuTag that is in Locked Mode.

If I use Valid UID option then the tag is created but since i have a newer firmware it won't print.

I have Da vinci Minimaker with firmware version 1.2.2. (I'm stupid to update it i know. I tried to downgrade without success so far. Stil looking for solutions.)

I'm using refill app 1.40.

Thanks for the feedback.  I also get the same error as jure.simon when trying to use a random uuid. I'm using a samsung galaxy s9+.

Thanks for the feedback. Currently your tool no longer works for paper tags. The tag is read by the software correctly but the printer doesn't aporove it. I tried on a couple of blanks and none of them work. Before the upgrade everything was fine. The only solution for me currently is to downgrade my firmware.

I can post mine that were previously working and after firmware update not anymore.
I can also post the other ones that were made with v1.40 of the refill tool and are read by the suite and rejected by printer.

You are correct. The tag that was working till the upgrade had 96m/300m PLA. But probably because before there was 300m of PLA it didn't work. The correct parameters were PLA, 200m, Yellow. Now ti started to print. Thank you!!!!

I Used Valid UID and valid Serial setting. It probably has default sizes for colors?
