Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Okay thank you very much what Kind of Emutags do i need? Or all the same?

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

@carl_m1968,

that's not exactly correct, I have added support for regular (ogininal) and paper tags in the version 1.20

The original xyz Tags working 100% perfect.

@Razor
The paper tags working also well, but in rare cases they don't.
I have looked at the source code and found some not optimal programmed code. I guess the problems came from here.

Give me few days I will release new version then.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Okay thanks so I understand that now properly paper NTags 213 work?  the APP just tells me to generate tag (emu tag) but have read in this thread that someone has just refilled because of the uid?  Find the option in the APP but not

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Thank you for your efforts I have just found the mistake!  My phone a Blackview BV6000 with NFC has apparently problems with the data processing the APP NTAG Refill Tool V.1.40 ..... read / write NFC ....... I do not know why that is.  My old cell phone Sony Xperia Z1 (display defective but with computer mouse still to use) works perfectly together with the APP.  Reads the NFC tags 213 so I can adjust color and material, then says tag again scan, and the day refill tab appears to set length still done Done.  Thank you very much for your effort

hello what are the stickers that I have to buy to use the application? do they find themselves in amazon?

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

NTAG213 Stickers. Just search that term on Amazon or Ebay.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who put work into this project. I finally got some paper tags yesterday from Amazon (still waiting on my eBay order from China...), wrote to a couple of them with the retool app, and I'm printing using some AIO Robotics PLA on my miniMaker right now. It felt like magic when the printer recognized the tag as a PLA spool with 200 meters on it.

So thank you again!

I just ordered these tags, and they worked great with the retool app:

If you decide to look for something else, keep in mind that even if you search for "NTAG213" Amazon may show you results that are actually NTAG215s. For example, when I searched for 213 and sorted by average customer review, the top several results are 215s! So double-check that they're 213 before you order, especially if you change the sorting of your search.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

*Sorry for my English*
I used the tags you want and it works, but how do I change the data written on the tag?

NTAG 215 and 216 cards can also be used in the printer - if you know what you're doing smile

I am having troubles with using an NTAG215 tag. it claims that it wrote the tag but still sees it as blank when I rescan it. I just ordered more 3rd party filament and I'm not sure what to do now. I am new to this and I tried to refill my real tags from my actual 1st party filament but they got locked and bricked. I need help and fast, please!

Is the app meant to work with NTAG215s?
Yhey definitely work in the printer, but the app must be set up to use them correctly.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Hi Everyone,

Could you please help...

System version of my da Vinci Jr 1.0 is 2.3.5

When I use the app it refills the original PCB tag from the real but then it becomes UNIDENTIFIED SPOOL !

I did the same with a paper tag - Generating a new tag but it is also read by the printer as UNIDENTIFIED SPOOL !

I guess this is because of the firmware version of 2.3.5

Can there be any solution ??

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

If the original tag reaches zero then it cannot be used.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Also do not use 240 meters on new firmware anymore, only max. 200 meters working.

One more thing, sometimes if you get unidentified spool or similar massage, your Tag or PaperTag get looked (intentionally damaged) and it is not possible reuse anymore.

Did anyone succeed on F/W 1.1.8, mini w+? Somehow my printer kept reporting error. Thanks.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Hi Guys,
Many thanks for the forum and thank you for the great work of the programmers. I can finally use good filament. I have only the small mini maker with the latest firmware. I always had to print 2% larger with the original XYZ filament. With the new good filament there is no shrinkage, all dimensions fit, the element adheres well.
Short summary from tonight.
Today 10 new paper tags were bought by Ebay. A paper tags programmed with the default values of 230m and at startup an error message came and the LED blinked red. A new paper tag tested at 200m. To do this the PC is disconnected from internet and the paper tag works with the 200m setting. The mini maker prints! The next 6 hours he is printing a filament holder. The new firmware seems to be talking to xyzprinting over the internet. Unfortunately I can not downgrade the old firmware. It is always the current firmware, despite success message of the current tool, available.
Please excuse my bad English, I am a little older and with only 3 classes of English in school never properly learned and therefore use the Google translator.

Many thanks from Germany
Rainer

Just block the XYZ program in your firewall so it can't talk to the XYZ server over the internet but it can still see and talk to the printer.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

hello, own a da vinci mini w and i am trying to reset my current NFC chips. The app works and i have reset one of them and it reads perfectly, the issues is when i go to print. I revive the error message " cartridge can not be recognized Please replace a genuine XYZprinting cartridge and try again." my printer is currently running firmware version 1.2.7  and the xyz print software 1.4.0.. will i be able to do this with my current conditions?

If not what firmware for the printer will work and what software will i have to use for this to works smoothly with 3rd party filament?

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

You can only set the tag to 200 grams max. You also cannot reset a tag that has reached zero or that the printer at some point decided the spool no longer had enough left to do a job. It will mark that one as used and cannot be reset. You should really get blank tags if you have not. That way you avoid marked serial numbers. You should also block the printer and the software from the internet in your firewall.

They need to be NTAG213, not 215.
