Topic: Solidoodle printing but gets off its own path

Prints an object incorrectly every time except for extremely small pieces. After printing a footprint it starts getting more off of its path each time? Had repetier host then switched to pronterface. I just got my solidoodle. First time printer user. I think it may be settings on software I am not sure. I am running on windows 7 but I dual boot with linux and have access to other pc's. I hope its a software issue big_smile

Re: Solidoodle printing but gets off its own path

Check voltage at the motor drivers, as indicated here: http://www.solidoodle.com/how-to-2/troubleshooting/

Proper Voltages
X axis: .443
Y axis: .520
Z axis: .500
Extruder: .192

And check the free carriage stroke in X and Y axes with the power off.

Before I even took my multimeter out, i tried heating the extruder again, and now it will not heat up.

Make sure all your set screws are tight on the pulleys and that you can move your print head around without binding with the power off.  Some alignment and belt tensioning may be needed

It moves freely, as do the belts. Well the pcb let off a bit of smoke, now my usb controller doesnt recognize the solidoodle. I hope something didnt go out.  I was expecting an out of box experience. I hope i can trouble shoot this thing but i will need some assistance in real time, hopefully through skype with solidoodle.

Ever figure htings out?

I did the voltage thing all of mine were lower then posted BUT I talked to SD and they said that might be ok I could be overdriving if I am not binding. i will checking binding one more time then lower things down a notch and see.
