Topic: Thin and weak walls

Hi There,
I've been doing the 3D printing for about a month now. Awesome stuff. I've ran into a problem lately. I'm trying to print a phone case, but the walls are coming out thin, weak and brittle. This is on a Davinci Pro using XYZware for Pro

When trying to pull it off the print bed, they sometimes break off. The weird thin is I had success the first couple of times I printed the case. (I'm pretty sure no setting were changed.) Now the walls are brittle and you can even put your fingernail between the walls and separate them. The wall thickness is 1.6mm. I'm using Hatchbox PLA, .3mm layer height, 200C nozzle/60C bed, and 30mm/s for speed. I seen somewhere to try multiples of .4 (Nozzle width), So I printed a test piece with 3 vertical walls with different thickness(1.2mm, 1.6mm, & 2.0mm). The test printed out fine. Even the thinnest wall at 1.2 mm was fairly sturdy and rigid, although I could still put a fingernail in that one. Why would it work on this test , but not the phone case? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You, Alex

Ok, thank you.

Re: Thin and weak walls

It may be the stl file if other files are working fine. I suggest putting it into netfabb and repairing it and trying again

I actually tried that. I even recreated the image. No luck. I think alot of the issue may have been filament, because I tried gray color and it was much better, although the vertical wall that runs across the top of the case was still a little flimsy, but there were not any holes like with the white. I just can't understand why the white worked fine with the test print and also other prints that I've done. It just did not like that phone case.

Re: Thin and weak walls

This happens to me whenever I print something large. Its like the hotend cant keep up with how fast its printing.

Ive tried adjusting the speed in xyzware but it just clicks back to the middle position on its own.
