Topic: My belts are getting worn

So I was able to get solidoodle 2 working. Now I need to get new belts if you buy them from solidoodle website it takes months to come. Where do you buy your belts and replacement parts. And do you know where I can get the the printed parts that are on the printer?

Re: My belts are getting worn

Braided fishing line is quick, easy and a superior replacement.  Best part is most bait shops or even Walmarts have a good selection of 60-80Lb test.
As far as replacement printed parts just list what ones you need and someone will be willing to print them up for you.

Printit Industries Model 8.10 fully enclosed CoreXY, Chamber heat
3-SD3's & a Workbench all fully enclosed, RH-Slic3r Win7pro, E3D V6, Volcano & Cyclops Hot End
SSR/500W AC Heated Glass Bed, Linear bearings on SS rods. Direct Drive Y-axis, BulldogXL
Thanks to all for your contributions

Re: My belts are getting worn

there are no "stores" that you can purchase all the printed parts from. That is why it is recommend that you print a set out and put them away for when they are needed.

If needed (printer broken & no parts to fix with), other community members are usually willing to lend a hand and print the needed parts.

SD4 #1 & #2 - Lawsy carriages, E3D v6, Rumba controller board, mirror bed plate, X motor fan, upgraded PSU & Mica bed heater
SD4 #3 - in the works ~ Folgertech FT-5, rev 1
Printit Industries Beta Tester - Horizon H1

Re: My belts are getting worn

None of my printed parts have broken I was looking to see if someone had a link to all the parts so I can have a backup when they break. Is that more clear?

Re: My belts are getting worn

Can't swear to the accuracy of the parts, but a quick search on Thingiverse returns this:

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:159671

But frankly, before things break most of us have already printed upgraded versions of the carriages and extruder mounts...most thankfully to board member Lawsy:

The belts as supplied on the SD2 are MXL:

But again, you might as well upgrade to GT2 (For this you will also need GT2 pulleys) or fishing line as wardjr suggests...

SD2 - Stock - Enclosure - Heated Bed - Glass Plate - Auto Fire Extinguisher
Ord Bot Hadron - RAMPS 1.4 - Bulldog XL - E3D v6 - 10" x 10" PCB Heated Build w/SSR - Glass Plate
Thanks for All of Your Help!

Re: My belts are getting worn

I was able to get new belts thanks to iron man. I am looking at to replace the teflon cubes on the axis rods with linear bearings. Does anyone know what size linear bearings to use an the 3d printed parts to go with the linear bearings? Thanks for all the help you guys have done for me.

Lawsy's Carriages use LM8UU bearings, you will need new rods as well, if you look at posts i started you will see a number of links in a post.
