For that price go buy a genuine E3d, which that is not.
http://www.filastruder.com/products/lite6
This is the lite6 if you want to use other than ABS/PLA get the regular V6
yaa in my time involved with the 3d printing community I have seen the one you linked to:
1. clog numerous times without rhyme or reason
2. break at the heatbreak
3. catch fire and melt, again without rhyme or reason
stick to the genuine E3D. The Lite6 is great as wardjr points out, $35 instead of $80.
Awesome. I knew clones were prone to clogging and other issues, I just had no idea how to tell them apart. Thanks, guys
I should be able to use one of the printable mounts, right? For the v5?
Order an MK5 right form filastruder they are cheap. There is a difference between the V5 and V6 so you will want to make sure you are printing the correct one.
What printer do you have?
I have a solidoodle 3..currently unmolested, but I am looking to do the bearing upgrade this weekend and the hotend/fan upgrade next week.
You will be absolutely amazed at the difference. Consider buying a HobbedGoblin while ordering from filastruder. With the E3d Miore will be more pronounced and a smaller drive gear will help reduce that. Then read up on the required firmware change in the WIKI. If you have questions just ask and I'll be happy to walk you through it.
What control board is on your SD3? That's the first question to be answered.
Where would I find that on the board?
It should be printed right on there or you can post a picture and we will tell you.
The steppers are removable on the Sanguinololu and are not on the PrinterBoard. This will tell me what links to provide to get you the right set of instructions.
Cool. Give me a minute...

Here is my board
That's a printrboard.
Also, lol to "risk of electric shock". The highest voltage on that board is 12 volts.
You'll want to read through the WIKI Sections some is out of date yet still applicable.
http://www.soliwiki.com/Updating_Solidoodle_Firmware Pay close attention to the Printerboard section. The firmware is in there but just in case https://github.com/ozadr1an/Solidoodle- … in_v1_beta
Reading through the e3d section will at least help you to understand most of what is involved. http://www.soliwiki.com/E3D_extruder
You'll want to follow the complete V6 hot end assembly instructions http://wiki.e3d-online.com/wiki/Main_Page
Hope that helps
I hadnt noticed the SD card slot on the board before...interesting
Got my V6 in today. Got the LM88Us in last week. I printed lawsy's x and y carriage replacements, what else to I need to print before I rip this thing down?
MK5 if you need one.
An extended Z tab would help. Especially if you ever choose to add on a Volcano.
Also, stock up on 3mm screws and nuts. I made far too many runs to Home Depot when I first upgraded to the Lawsy carriages.
The Z tab I meantioned shouldn't be mandatory for the v6. If needed, you *could* just flip the screw. But only crazy people do that ![]()
Will the MK5 work with v6? I didnt go with a lite...I just bought the full V6.
You want to go with the MK6 that wardr revised. If you search Solidoodle E3D v6 in Thingiverse, you will find multiple designs.
The profiles are identical between the Lite6 and the v6
Thanks Azerate.
