Topic: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I was playing with xyz server address to find 1.0A 2.0A and AIO firmwares, so I could get a backup just in case I try to use the repetier and I saw the firmwares for current machines ain't online...

So like I was saying, I was playing with the folder structure of xyz.blob.core.windows.net to try to download and bingo, not that hard at all. Download them asap, just in case they don't want to have a backup for current 1.0A 2.0A AIO firmwares smile

http://xyzprod.blob.core.windows.net/fi … V1.0.3.bin <- Da Vinci 1.0A Firmware
http://xyzprod.blob.core.windows.net/fi … V1.1.3.bin <- Da Vinci AIO 1.0 Firmware

The DUO 2.0A should be http://xyzprod.blob.core.windows.net/fi … V1.0.B.bin But this doesn't work :S

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I downloaded the 1.0.3 firmware and tried flashing it using bossac.  The process worked, however the printer boots up with 2 black bars across the LCD and no device shows up when I plug it into my PC.

I do have the new board.  I was on 1.0.3, flashed over to Repetier, and now trying to flash back to stock.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I readed somewhere that pressing up and down while turning on allowed someoneto make the machine show varely so the updater could work. I'll try to find the post

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I also read about that up/down buttons boot loader trick.  Unfortunately it didn't work for me.  I've tried every combination of buttons pressing in various stages of "soft" brick and I couldn't get the boot loader screen to come up.  I was able to flash the older firmware and got it to boot up.  Unfortunately XYZWare's firmware upgrade brought it up to 1.2.3 and not 1.0.3A as I was hoping that it'd do.

@georgehine I will try that link now and report back.

Despite getting Luc's .92 Repetier firmware to work, the stepper motors started overheating and skipping steps not long into the prints.  I'm not sure if Repetier is applying too much current to these motors or what.

Is it posible to backup a copy of the firmware on my machine? I read somewhere that you can backup arduino firmwares

With stock firmaware your machine is not seen as an Adruino device. There for it cannot be backed up.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

There's a file named FW_upgrade.dat on the minisd card that is about the same size as other firmware files.  I wonder if that's usable.

Nope, in fact nobody knows what that file is for or what is in it since it is encrypted and no one has been able to crack it.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

@georgehine  I tried push loading the firmware using the softwares in your link with no luck.  The push load seems to go through fine, but the LCD is stuck on UPDATING, PLEASE WAIT.  The printer then goes back to the 2 black bars if I turn it off and back on.  I contacted XYZ support anyway and see what they say.   Worst case scenario I'll just flash to Repetier again.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

When you are on repetier you need to use the bossac command to flash back to stock fw not XYZ software /tool
FW_upgrade.dat is the latest fw updated by XYZ software, so you can use it with bossac command to be back to stock.
It is what I did when no 2.0 FW was available for download to go back to stock FW

When you plug it into a computer does the computer see it and what is identified as under ports in your device manager?

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I have been working with the davinci aio for several hours now. Here’s what I have come up with. I have successfully installed 1.1.j on it (even though it’s for the 1.0 not aio) and I have got repetier on it as well. Those both seem to work fine. The only other firmware I have tried is 1.1.3. I have the xyzerocart and that was allowing me to dictate what material and how long the filament was for the printer, but I was not able to modify any temperatures. Supposedly, the xyzerocart will give you full control on version 1.1.3 in the aio and that is why I tried to revert back. I do still want the functionality of the scanner, but at the same time, would like the freedom to alter the bed and extruder temps. Unfortunately there seems to be some sort of status somewhere else on the board that will not let previous versions of the firmware on there. I even opened up the bin file with a hex editor and altered the code that read 1.1.3 to 1.1.5 and that still did not work. There must be something else in the bin file that lets the machine know its 1.1.3 and there must be somewhere else on the machine that regulates versions that are allowed to be installed. I failed to pull the .dat file from the SD card before I tried to downgrade and now I can’t even try to put 1.1.5 back on. If anyone has version 1.1.5, or has not hacked their aio, would you be willing to get me that file from your SD card inside the machine? I would also like to compare both files’ hex data as well.  All you have to do is pull the SD card out and copy the files from it. The file I need is FW_upgrade.dat if you have not tried to modify your aio.

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

Why do the links in the first post not work? Is it just me?

Re: Da Vinci 1.0A and AIO firmwares - Direct Download of the current vers

I just got my AiO back from XYZ Printing because of a hardware failure and they upgraded my system to 1.1.5, so my ZEROCart system no longer talks to the system. If you can tell me how to get the file off the SD card, I'll be glad to do it. I want to get my ZEROCart system back up and running - I have a lot of non-XZY filament sitting here waiting to print.

The firmware is not in the SDcard. It is in the processor on the mainboard and there is no way to get it out.
