I was asking because I thought perhaps the price would be a little lower if the lasercut parts was an add-on. I just would benefit from ease of sourcing all the rest of the parts besides the main STLs and lasercut parts. I find the cost a tiny bit prohibitive though in the real-world it is actually a superb price for such a well developed niche product (so I wouldn't for a moment complain of it being over-priced, it's just slightly over-my-price.)
I agree, being a college student it's just out side of my budget (with the extra cost of shipping doesn't help) But for most people I can see it being well priced.
I may try making it my self, I already have a lot of the electronic parts hanging around here, and I could live with 3D printed corner brackets and jig sawed plywood. I just would hate not supporting Ian and the hard work he's put into this.
Ian, Have you thought about maybe just selling the bare PCB's? They would be cheap to ship international and people could still support your work.
