Thanks all - in fact it was a shipping mistake where I ordered two rolls which looked identical (two colours) but the first one said ABS when I checked the label on the spool. The other is PVA, so I'll try that and hopefully that was the problem - it just shows you should always check the obvious!

I was thinking about starting to collect all the know UID and passwords of the NFC tag and try to figger out the most used bytes.
Hopefully shortening the brute force attack this way.

Let me know if you have a way to get the PACK information. I have been looking for that.
I currently have an MS Access database with all of the information I have been able to gather.
If anyone is interested in a way to update their cards via a windows app, let me know. It will also give you the ability to store your card data in a database and recall it. If you are interested PM me. It will not retrieve passwords.

For filament information, I have used the following:

The spools are too big to fit inside, so I printed a spool holder and mounted it outside and drilled a small hole in the side panel. Print quality seems comparable to original filament.

i just got some colorfab shining silver 210c prints gives a better print then what i have seen out of the xyz stuff.
Did the filament reset on two NFC cards via android phone, and it works like a charm! Thanks guys!

So I have had the reset for a while and it works great. The only problem I have is I can never use the same color twice. I follow the instructables and reset all the pages it says to but once I have used a color if I try and use it again and it will not be able to read the NFC card until I set it to a color I have not used yet. Any suggestions on this issue?

Have you tried adding 1 to the last byte of page 14?
Rewrite all the pages to the original state except for page 14. Increase the last byte by 1.
Yeah it does seem to be line 14 any time I change it from what it is currently it can no longer read the card. but soon as I change it back it can read it again. So any other suggestion how how to reset what is left with out having to change the color.
Just put every value back to normal, as shown in the instruction.
Then add 1 byte to the value in 09, making it 00353455.
After this your tag should work again.
For the next reset simply change the values to standard and add again a byte to 09 (00353456)
This had worked for me three resets now, and i never change the color

No, however getting your hands on a cheap NFC Android Smartphone shouldn`t be too complicated .

Just found my password (I think) having read through a logic analyser log for about an hour, mine was about 2 seconds after power up
My first spool of filament is nearly empty and then I'll try to reset the tag and get some 3rd party filament.
You did that the hard way. What you should have done was export the output to a file. Then did a search in the file for 1B.

I did try that but the files were quite big and I couldn't open them with what I had to hand, I tried the saleae software but couldn't get it to see the analyser.
SigRok SW looks good but it doesn't seem to have a search function.

So I too am now having trouble with the modified tag being unrecognized trying to reset it. The original printer here had some issues so XYZ replaced it for a new one with the 2.2.4 firmware already on it.
I copied the hex from the newer Instructable, but had to go back from 5A505000 to 5A504500 for page 08 since at 5000 the Hatchbox brand Glow in the Dark was warping.
Currently what does seem to work, is changing either page 08 or 09 slightly. To start I added one to page 09 changing it from 00353454 to 00353455 and under spool info it took it as a new valid tag. Since I wasn't sure what exactly 09 does I didn't want to run it with the little bit of glow filament left. I then went and changed 5A504500 to 5A504501 which it's now printing out on, only with the color being listed as Undefined.
The extruder they sent on this new one is the one with a calibration button on a new side piece and a calibration option in the menu that wasn't on the older one. I don't know what version firmware they added support for that, since it seems that was the stock extruder on the wireless version. I don't know, or haven't seen posted anyhow, if anyone has had any luck going back to previous firmware versions, or if that can be done with this model and it's newer/different extruder.
Humm, im interested in this new extruder. Does it offer any improved performance when compared to the old one? I wonder if thats what you get if you order the "replacement" extruder on the XYZ shop?
Have anyone tested if this works on the newest 2.2.6 Firmware? Would like to know before risking updating it and not being able to use reset cards.
