Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

I got a blank and new NFC213 chip.
I downloaded "NTAG Refill Tool" program from Google Playstore.
The program recognized the chip.
I chose the material and color.
I entered the filament length.
I chose the "Generate tag", then I chose the "refill tag".
I plugged the chip into the XYZ Minimaker.
I finally did it.

Thanks.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Goodmorning everyone,
I recently bought a da vinci mini maker W 3d printer, bought it used and I'm trying to use it to the fullest. I have already done some printing and now I have to buy the new filament. After some research online I discover that it is possible to purchase third party filament using the systems described in this topic. I have some questions, I hope you can help me:

1) da vinci mini maker, fw version: 1.3.9 is it possible to use the nfc tag with this fw version?
2) if it is possible, is there any trick I need to use, such as disconnecting the PC from the network, etc., etc.?
3) what app I have to install on the smartphone, I see that you suggest at least 3.
4) once the tag has been created, where should it be housed?

Thanks to those who want to help me.

Yes, its not looking nice (not the android/ui guy) but it did the job for me so far, especially for creating new tags.

What's needed?
- An NFC-enabled android phone/tablet with at least Android 4.4 (I guess)
- Cheap blank nfc213 paper tags if you want create new tags.

No soldering or other tinkering required. Start the app, place it on a blank, choose temp/length, push the button, tape the tag to the printers' nfc reader, happy printing.

Here is one of many tutorials out there that guide you through the steps of installing an apk to your phone:

The apps source is also attached (AGPL licensed), so feel free to use and abuse it. Maybe someone can create a fork which is more feature rich and  better looking, I'm lacking time atm.

I'd like to thank all the users sharing information here, especially nilezon for reverse engineering the pass/pack code, which is also used in this app (in a very ugly way :-/).

I am not familiar with this TAG tech, and i strugled a lot.May be my aliexpress tags are strange  may be my nfc phone was too old, so i want to share my experience.

When i downloaded   Reel_Tool_v2.1.zip it worked like a charm but once. Then i used the tag to the end of the length.I used the tool to the next blank tag and it was not working.
Then i downloaded and installed  "NTAG_Refill_Tool_v1.52.zip".I used it on a blank tag ,but the tags become locked and not usable.
After many attempts and many fails i realized that if i use first "Reel_Tool_v2.1.zip" on a blank tag  then i can scan  and edit it with  "NTAG_Refill_Tool_v1.52.zip" then the tag is ok.
Then i also took the very first tag which ended , and edited it with "NTAG_Refill_Tool_v1.52.zip" and it became usable again.
I didn't use that "NTAG_Refill_Tool_v1.52.zip" for third time on the same ntag, but i think that it will work again and can get away with 1 blank tag.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Please help. I’ve been looking through these pages for hours and still can’t come up with anything.
I don’t have an android device so was wondering if there is a workaround for an iPhone??

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

This is not working.
I am currently using a Da Vinci Mini W+,
Current firmware is 1.2.3
I've been attempting to use the tag refill tool, the NFC Tag tool, as well as the app you pay $1 for on the app store.
The first applications have locked every single tag ive used. Doesn't matter what settings I've used, I've gone through 30+ tags at this moment.
The application from the store will not allow me to scroll up or down. I cant do anything, all I can see is "security I formstion" and "filament informstion" I cant click any drop downs, I cant scroll around, I can't do anything.
I'm at the point now where I've spent just as much money kn stupid tags and apps as I would have just buying a new reem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I cannot find any information online regarding this crappy printer, or why its the only brand to require an NFC chip to operate.
My XYZMaker Suite is at 1.1.1
I'm not great at programming and whatnot, and after reading the first paragraph on how to downgrade my firm ware, I stopped. I dont have time for all that.
I dont want to pay xyz prices, but at this point it looks like I'm iut of options. The only phone I could use to achieve this is a HTC M9, its older but newer phones dont seem to have NFC unless you pay big bucks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if there's an easier way to downgrade firm ware than by taking my machine apart id appreciate it.

No iPhone support. Just buy a cheap android phone used off ebay with android 4.4 or greater. It does not even need to have a good IEMI, you just need NFC function.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Don't refill, they won't work. You have to create a new tag and set for 200m each time. Once a tag is seen as empty it cannot be refilled as the printer will black list the serial number.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Good day All

I've bought a Da Vinci jr 1.0 in South Africa only to find that the filament with the NFC TAGS are impossible to find. I've tried numerous hacks via a Android NFC Tool, My printer keeps telling me now its a unsupported Cartridge.

Does anyone know of a Basic tool that can reset the spool or should i Bin the printer?

Regards Paul

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Just for a dummy That can´t get tags working.

I have a mini w with FW 1.3.9 running xyzmakersuite 1.1.5 and xyzprinting 2.0.5

I get error with the paper tags i create that they are blocked.

is this due to how i create them via the apps?

or because my printer reaches the internet db somehow? Should i disconnect it from wifi and block the software tools in the

firewall? xyzprint.exe and xyzsuite.exe

this is process of how i create the tags

reel tool 2.1
200 degrees
200m

then

ntag refill tool 1.60
pla
black
205 degrees
200m
generate tag
then refill
tried random ui
and random serial and choices between no go

one thing i notice NTAG uid in the top in the refill app never changes is always the same.

Do i need to downgrade firmware and software?

Hi,
i have a xyz Color Printer (that one with inkjet features) i buyed NFC 213 tag and used NFCXYZ_Refill_Tag_Pro_v2.5 app to write a tag as PLA RED filament, i wrote it before read don't use 300m option, but my printer have accepted the tag and i printed succefully some objects. This is the first tag now i have to test if i can create a second without problems
