Topic: Threadless ballscrew problems

So I made 2n2r5's project, installed on 8mm smooth rod with a flex coupler on rod to motor (all I could find at time)....my problems are it will only move down, and when moved up (while helped along manually with pressure from below or on bearings themselves) the screws and bearings hit y rear bar in my SD4 and wont home, even w bed raised as high as possible, thanks for any input.

This is a mod that I haven't done myself so....
Couldn't you just flip that over and run it on the underside of where it is mounted? 
That would at leas solve the problem of it hitting the y-rod.

I tried but the cut out in the bed platform doesnt have enough room to accommodate it. It also is mounted w 4 m3 screws which unless I chop platform up (might be too much and impeded on integrity) is only way for it to fit, even with that done unless that works than I just trashed that platform...havent had much luck looking for vids except people showing theres working...no install or tips, so stab in the dark by asking in here...cant help me w everything Ward tongue...finally found something lol

Probably should go ahead and throw on that e3d. The stock hotend is really short. The e3d is much taller. Just a thought.

Off topic but what is a nightshade?

Yeah maybe not directly wink send a forum mail to Tim (2n2r5) I bet he'll respond.  It seems to me there is a firmware change that was implemented for that mod also.  You will want to ask about that as well.

Maybe you can help me.  When my bed is touching the nozzle I measure about 30mm between the top of the platform (where your ball screw is mounted) to the y-axis rod.  what does yours measure and what does the assembled ball screw measure?
Also wondering what you are using for carriage and hot end at this point?

A nightshade would be me being an idiot and meaning supernight...2 weeks of tinkering w this every waking second doesnt help the brain much...thanks for spot, will correct now
