Topic: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

New magical problem, when I home anything in RH after that they wont move manually, endstops work if i put my finger in way and will continue to go either direction once I manually hit endstop, but if I home anything thats where it stays...should have bought a hamster

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

Check your firmware settings and delete Repetier Host settings and reinstall. I bet this issue specifically has nothing to do with Solidoodle.

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

Im pisitive too im sure its soft/firmware...but ive done those things 4 times. No big deal as of now, im printing stuff that doesnt come close to edges so I dont have a problem...good news i fixed one other problem, had to bump flowrate all the way up to 150, and I knocked feedrate way down...I now actually get good prints w proper infill. YAYYYY big_smile

Edit:I dont purposely print near edges...I have since edited printer layout in RH...it kept giving wrong view of object placement...this showed center of plate on RH (fixed now though)

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

Last 20-30 layers...that's a real thin section and getting melted by the nozzle staying in one relative area too long.  If you have a filament cooling fan, use that...if not, you might consider a sacrificial post toward the other side of the bed to give that section time to cool.

SD2 - Stock - Enclosure - Heated Bed - Glass Plate - Auto Fire Extinguisher
Ord Bot Hadron - RAMPS 1.4 - Bulldog XL - E3D v6 - 10" x 10" PCB Heated Build w/SSR - Glass Plate

yes I have similar issues with the tiny parts I make so I add other tall models to print job to give time for tall thin parts to cool a bit between layers. or even put multiple copies of  item at a time on print job if small. also in slic3r try checking 'avoid crossing perimeters but this adds time to print job and more movement of the extruder. just another option to consider until part cooling fan gets added

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

Guys, have a closer look at the top solid infills. There's so many holes it seems there's no top solid infill at all, just honeycomb. This hints me there's still underextrusion.
Not saying there's no melting going on, but if there is, that's not the only issue.

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

I'm looking at this piece, and becuase I know what it's supposed to look like, I can tell you it's really messed up.  There seem to be steps in the side wall that shouldn't be there  (Skips in the first image), there's holes in the motor mount that shouldn't be there, it just looks wrong.

I wonder if this is some kind of slicing error, or whether the printer is skipping or jumping around and not following the paths.  Here are some pics of the model from the same angles as the photos posted by the OP.

You should also try to add support for the arches and the vertical holes

http://www.soliforum.com/misc.php?action=pun_attachment&item=7549

BTW, the vertical part of the motor mount is 2mm thick and with a bit of support should print clean even without cooling.

Why did you need to clean it up?  There were no errors in the STLs I posted.

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

Idk, I run all stl files through netfabb. I was unaware if a file had no errors than netfabb would ruin it

Re: I wanna chuck this thing out the window

I'm not exactly sure what's going on with your machine, but I think it's really improperly calibrated.

The attached file is the GCode generated by Slic3r on my machine, using my settings.  Unzip it, and load it into Repetier, then try printing it.  See if this works for you.

Let us know how if it works

My steps were so far off it wasnt funny...also fixed my scaling and placement issue. My brain didnt even catch that when I hit x or y axis 50mm it went 100, I was watching and knew something was wrong but couldnt tell what until I took my head out of my arse and thought for a second...smh. Z-axis down 10 went about 22...fixed all those and extruder steps and fixed 9/10 of my problems. Im such an ass
