Topic: Need help wiring Rumba Board with SD3

Sup guys! Before the new year, my old mother board (standard SD3 board) had a bad driver and I needed to replace it. This Christmas, went ahead and got me a Rumba Board that was recommended.

Here is the link to the exact one : http://www.reprapdiscount.com/electroni … 8825.html#

As I am still pretty new to this, I am looking for some guidance on how to wire this to my SD3. I have looked at some other threads here, and it seems that they all have the wiring already done. I need the basic of the basic instructions to get me started.

Here are some photos of  what I have, and what came with the Board:

And here is my old mother board the back of my SD3 just for reference:

I have no training or schooling in this, and everything so far has been from this website and youtube tutorials. If someone has the patience to guide me through this and help me get printing again, I would be greatly appreciative.

I'd be happy to help send me a PM.  I don't think we really need another thread on this as it would just be better to have a good write up in the WIKI.  Which is on my list of " to do's "

+1  on this... I used this for wiring mine up and went pretty quickly.  Hard part was keeping the wiring clean/neat and removing/striping the wires from some of the old headers.
EDIT:  I used (and still use) this page a lot where that graphic came from; http://reprap.org/wiki/RUMBA

Also another tip;  get your settings from your old SD board so you can transition over easier.  If switching over to DRV8825s, don't forget to double the values as well if going from 1/16 to 1/32 stepping.

I started with the SD modified firmware loaded on my Rumba, and now use the stock Marlin firmware.

SD3, Lawsy Carriages with GT2 belts on x axis, BLTouch, Bondtech BMG extruder, E3D v6 via bowden, MIC6 bed with 200W heater w/SSR relay and a RUMBA controller
