Topic: calibration issue flow rate

I'm calibrating my sd4 tonight, and the feed rate calibration went easy, but I'm having issues with flow rate. I'm shooting for squish out to be .42mm. My first print was right around .30mm. I upped the extrusion multiplier value accordingly, but it printed the exact same single line wall thickness. Am I missing something?

First off, make sure that the profile you're editing in slic3r is selected in RH when you slice/print. Often I find I'm busy changing things, wondering why nothing changes, and realise I've got the wrong profile selected!

Also, the SD4 is likely to have a 0.4mm diameter nozzle - based on others' experience here you'll get better results overall if you shoot a bit higher: 0.48mm - 0.50mm or so.

Re: calibration issue flow rate

I had a moment.  I was modifying the filament profile, but i didn't select it in the pull down menu. Once i found my error,  i got it within .01 mm of target. Made my first calibrated print,  and it was successful. My first print was a spool holder to fit in a sealed case, so my reel could stay dry without removing it from the printer when not in use. I'll post the files once I tweak a few things.

Good work, glad it was as easy as that! Looking forward to seeing your work.  smile
