Topic: Printing off a Raspberry Pi questions

So I am debating whether or not to try this with the B+ model. For anyone who have done this, can you weigh in any pros or cons?

Re: Printing off a Raspberry Pi questions

I've got a dedicated B with RepetierServer installed that's been doing a pretty good job. My only issue was that the Extruder controls weren't working quite the way I wanted, so I usually just ran from the laptop.

I really need to take another stab at Octoprint. It wasn't finding my printer and I had stuff I wanted done, so I backburnered it.

Absolutely worth trying out though. If you don't already have a Pi, it's a great excuse to get one. RetroPie has a nice NES emulator on it...

Re: Printing off a Raspberry Pi questions

I have rasp pi B, kept at it for awhile it never really ran correctly for me, had issues with it finding the printer, then it would run out of memory, then it would or wouldn't allow me to move gcode to the on board directory to print depending how it felt that day. I gave up on it for now sad

Re: Printing off a Raspberry Pi questions

Octoprint is a live project, and has been improving a fair bit over the last year - e.g. multiple extruders are now supported (good for my enclosure heater implementation!) for example. If you haven't tried a fresh copy in the last 6 months, might be worth another go!
