Topic: What extrusion widths work well for larger E3D nozzles?
I am just wondering, for those who run an E3D, what widths have you successfully printed with the larger nozzles? I've got a 0.6mm nozzle and my standard width that I have gotten good results with is 0.72mm (120% of my nozzle diameter). I would like to do some partially transparent vases and having fewer perimeters will allow it to have better transparency but I still want enough width to make them strong. Can I go to 150% of nozzle diameter and print 0.9mm walls? Heck, what if I double it for 1.2mm walls? Triple?
If I buy a 0.8 mm nozzle, can I print walls over 1mm thick? Has anyone tried a small layer height with a large width (i.e. 0.1 layer height with 0.96 widths)? I can play around some but I'm bored at work and just thought I would ask what has been working for others. What are the limits that you have seen?
