been running E3Dv6 and finally hit a snag. Completely stopped heating. So I'm wondering whats the best connectors to use? Could i rig something like this (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/27-5971) up with no issues? or with further looking where i can get the 4 pin atx connectors? google is giving me nothing
I doubt it. movement will break wires at screw. I dont know why SD didnt use same connections at extruder as computer electronics devices and add a bit of dielectric silicone on copper wires to help prevent dirty connection points. I even still have the special crimper tool needed to crimp the points on wires (not a regular wire crimper, its for tiny clips that snap into multi plug harness ends) cant recall name now starts with an 'M' dang tool cost me $60 when I worked in building automation field
RUMBA uses Screw terminals. They are epically awesome!

Molex?
I'd kinda caution against molex, bastards can be a pain in the arse to unplug if they get a little comfy being connected.
As to suggestions... I'll get back to you when I've worked it out myself 
So far just securing the wires at several points before it leaves the extruder carriage has done well-ish.
yeah Molex. got one of them dang costly crimpers from a job I worked 3 months lol and they are nasty at times but better than what SD used for staying connected so fewer call backs.

anyway i have the atx plug in and that fixed the problem and now i have no more earthquake simulations, and heater that actually works again. heres the links i found should anyone need em.

cool, anyone know the spread on that forked tool? I got some old dental tools I can modifie
Are you talking about the connection at the drive gear area where the heater and thermistor plug in? I just use JST plugs taped to the extruder motor body and I've never had a problem. You can easily make your own custom length plugs just by crimping the connectors with needle nose pliers and inserting into the male and female plugs.
