SD4 is basically an SD3, the firmware is the same, so no issue there. But yes the extrusion width is wrong. When I asked Joel to forward my inquiry about this to the engineers he simply said "I am unable to forward your request." I have also not been able to get RH to print in the middle of the board. S3D either. There's a thread about this already, but I still can't get the dimensions right.
The slic3r profile also sets up support extrusion at 0.31mm. I'm no expert, but that can't work. No way.
The stock RH also does not set up i18n properly. Half the software says things like L_CARTESIAN_PRINTER which are i18n constants. Shameful.
Solidoodle has serious problems with communication, both within the company and with customers. They will ultimately fail if they don't fix this. A video of the press shows the CEO stating how solidoodle has always been about "ease of use and customer satisfaction." Not sure which alternate universe that is happening in. I hate to name call but SD has been ignoring my support requests for days so I'm ruffled.
If technical consumers like me have trouble, good luck marketing the press to people who just want to plug in and go, which seems to be the target audience. People who bought an SD4 seem to just be SOL with getting anywhere with SD. that's why I gave up and will just be slowly converting my printer away from all stock hardware.
Poor communication, bad software and lackluster documentation have caused me to not only run in circles for weeks, but have also led to me damaging a hotend (how was I supposed to know the extrusion temp for the 4 was 215C when literally everywhere folks say "don't go above 210C" in relation to the SD3?)
Half of the SD website goes to 404s. Do they think this is a game?
