Topic: GCodePrintr Android App- easy PC-less printing from your tablet!

Has anyone else used this app?  I am running an SD2 with RUMBA board and it was true plug and play printing from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet! I am not affliated with them in any way, so this is not advertising.

Literally all I did was order a USB OTG cable from amazon that I needed to hook my tablet into my RUMBA board and everything was properly seen, recognized and connected without any hassle.  You can check the connection with the free version then upgrade to the paid ($4.13) version once you confirm it works.

Just pick all your print settings in the app's menu, use your file transfer app of choice to get your G-code from your PC onto a folder on your tablet and press print.  Easy.  Total time was less than an hour and cost for the app and cables is less than $12.

I have no idea how it will work for RAMPS or other board users but I am very pleased with it.  The only possible downside is that it does not charge your tablet while printing, so you are limited by your battery life.  Close all your other apps to prolong it, but my tablet battery would probably last 24+ hours running only this app.

Anyone want to try it with another board and post your results?  I am shocked that this app is not more popular.

I have it (the paid version) on two tablets. I haven't really tried it yet, though. Note that it also allows printing from wifi. The plan was to use one of my 7" tablets as a permanent server for the printer. As you noted, though, charging while connected is an issue unless you have a tablet with a separate power input. My tablet (Irulu) has a full USB port and a separate power input for charging, so no issues there. I started designing a mount for it, but haven't finished it yet as well as a 5V tap to power it.

The manual controls, at least, work with my stock Printrboard in the SD4
