Topic: Original parts/screws/hardware List

Is there a parts list anywhere (in my case for the SD3)?  The solidoodle site doesn't sell screws or tell you what screws are where on the printer.  I'd like to replace a few and seem to be out of luck and have to guess.

Specifically, I'm looking for the specs on the screws that hold on the electronics and also the idler pulley screw on the x axis.  More spaghettily, the partially threaded M5 looking doohicky.

Am I right to assume that these are all metric screws?  I love metric but getting these means having to order them - forget the hardware store.

For the sake of argument - no, I don't want to just get by with some 4-40's

A complete list would be great if anyone knows of such a thing.

Thanks

Re: Original parts/screws/hardware List

The screws that hold the board on are M3, probably M3 X 20, but I'm not in front of my machine to measure them.  I have found M3 screws at home depot, but it takes a bit of luck and patience searching thru the big cabinets where others may have tossed them back into the wrong compartment.

Let me know if you find a place that sells a replacement idler screw for the X axis or if you can find a shorter version of the Y pulley screws.  I hate how much they stick out.  I have looked all over McMaster for these with no success.

Just ransack the M3 bins regardless of length...you will always find uses for them in the life of your printer.

Good thing the one near my house has considerate customers! smile

I actually found several of the shorter socket cap screws at Home Depot. I had to instal new pulley brackets when doing the carriage upgrade. The work just fine. If you still can't find them, let me know and I will send you a couple.

They are M5 right?  I didn't see any that had the right length at my local home depot, but I haven't looked in a little while.  I would be paranoid to use anything else, like a comparable imperial screw, since it might throw off the belt/ pulley spacing or something.  Thanks, I will keep it in mind.

M5 sounds right. I'm not near my "printing corner" until this evening.
